The Primary Test Manager™ (PTM) software supports you during diagnostic tests on circuit breakers, current and voltage transformers, rotating machines, grounding systems, power transformers as well as associated equipment such as bushings and on-load tap changers (OLTC).
The software guides you through the testing process with comprehensive testing procedures and detailed wiring diagrams. Tests can be automatically assessed in accordance with the applicable international IEEE and IEC standards. PTM also provides powerful reporting functionalities such as customized, individual reports about the test object, test results and assessment.

Features & Improvements in general
- Rapid Fault Sense (RFS) for CPC 100
As a great safety improvement, with PTM 5.00, RFS technology (Rapid Fault Sense) has been introduced to CPC as the first device with this feature.
The RFS constantly supervises the injected output quantities. An immediate switch-off is automatically performed, when a significant output change occurs. - HV timeout option for CPC 100
A HV timeout can be activated for the Quick test card in the 1kV & 2kV output modes. The output is automatically switched off when the injection time reaches the timeout threshold. - SFRA Measurement Validation Webservice (preview feature)
It is now possible to evaluate the validity and quality of the SFRA measurement using modern algorithms (machine learning). - Polish language support
PTM supports the Polish language from 5.00 onwards. - Default directory is now Documents when using Device Link File Browser
Up to 4.90 the default directory was set to the Windows root folder.
The OMICRON File Browser now remembers the last used Windows directory.
Features & Improvements for PTM DataSync
- Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for PTM DataSync “Web” users
PTM 5.00 offers alternatively to the certificate based authentication for the client/server data synchronization the option for a 2 factor authentication for registered DataSync users.
Features & Improvements for Power Transformer Testing
- VAM Support Tool for TESTRANO 600
The user can upload his VAM data to an OMICRON server and request support from the OMICRON technical support. In addition, the measurement data can be sent to the Reinhausen customer portal (account required) to order an assessment of the OLTC at hand. - New Asset Type – Shunt Reactor
The shunt reactor has been added to the list of available asset types. This allows the user to enter the correct nameplate data in PTM and to add the asset data to the corresponding report.
Features & Improvements for Rotating Machines Testing
- Full Push Button support for Stator Core Measurement
With PTM 5.00 the dedicated Push Button accessory allows the measurement engineer to operate the measurement fully remotely by connecting it to the Binary IN of the CPC100
Features & Improvements for Instrument Transformer Testing
- Polarity Check Measurement – CPC 100 & CPOL
PTM now supports for the current & voltage transformer application the polarity check measurement together with the CPC 100 and the CPOL device.
Features & Improvements for Switchgear Testing
- Extended under-voltage coil test – possibility to perform the Breaker-Close command manually
- Current ramp for static contact resistance measurement - the CIBANO 500 main device is now capable to increase / decrease the current for the static contact resistance measurement at a pre-defined rate.
